1. BBC History for Kids

BBC History for Kids lets kids travel through space and time to other countries to learn about different cultures via fun games and quizzes.  


2. Code

Are your kids interested in computer coding? Check out Code.org for some free online tutorials to get them started. They have already compiled several one-hour activities for all ages, educational videos, and even express courses. Start coding at home today! 


3. CoolMath

CoolMath.com offers free online math lessons for pre-algebra, algebra and pre-calculus. Their sister site, CoolMath4Kids.com provides lessons, quizzes, games and more for students, parents and teachers, and CoolMath-Games.com offers free math games on weekdays between 7am and 4pm.


4. Duolingo

Want your child to learn another language? Then sign up with Duolingo where all lessons and languages are free. Choose from more than 20 languages and received personalized learning, immediate grading, and motivating rewards. 


5. Fun Brain

Fun Brain, for pre-K through 8th grade students, has provided free educational games for children since 1997. With hundreds of videos, books, and games created specifically to develop skills in literacy, math and problem-solving, there are hours’ worth of activities for your child. 


6. How Stuff Works

How Stuff Works is a great option for high school students with tons of articles, varying from health, science, tech, animals, and more. For those non-readers, check out some podcasts via the iHeart PODCAST network, or take some fun quizzes to refresh what they’ve learned in history class.  


7. Khan Academy

Khan Academy is a nonprofit organization with free educational resources for parents and students to utilize at their own pace. Their expertly curated library of lessons catches students up to speed then expands their knowledge base. They have even created a daily schedule for students ages 4-18 for you to use as-is or tweak for your child’s specific needs.


8. Learning Games for Kids

Learning Games for Kids provides online games and sing-alongs that teach foundational math and language skills required in current elementary school curriculums. Does your child need more focus on science and social studies? They have lessons and games for that too! 


9. Old Farmer’s Almanac for Kids

The Old Farmer’s Almanac for Kids is a source of online learning featuring fun and interesting tidbits about animals, history, science and even some jokes and trivia! 


10. The KIDZ Page

TheKidzPage.com provides free education and learning games for kids. Play online or print out activities for some offline learning! With tons of game categories, like math, word, memory and logic, your child will stay sharp during their time away from the classroom.
