Tanya Manriquez Lujan
The Permian Basin has become a thriving metropolis, rich with culture and rampant with skilled professionals seeking to better themselves and their surroundings. A valuable fixture in the area, Tanya Lujan’s private practice, West Texas Speech Therapy, offers residents a service relatively under-implemented. In fact, Lujan’s motivation for opening the business came from noticing a lack of comparable resources, so in 2014 she stepped up to fill the gap. Primarily centered on pediatric and adult orofacial myofunctional disorders, Lujan remains the only dual-certified speech therapist in West Texas, operating as both a Speech-Language Pathologist and Orofacial Myologist. With five other clinicians by her side, she serves the community tirelessly. An Odessa native, Lujan obtained her undergraduate degree from Abilene Christian University before getting a master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Texas Woman’s University. Following stints in public/private schools, home health facilities, outpatient rehabilitation and nursing homes, she settled into her current role, serving Permian Basin youngsters with compassion and competence. With three teenage boys to keep her busy, she also strives for self-care, staying active in the National Physique Committee and standing out among her bodybuilding peers. So, if you or someone you know could benefit from specialized speech therapy, head into the region’s top facility and experience Lujan’s expertise first-hand.
