The Face of Ethically-Made Goods Circle Y Amish Furniture

Nov 14, 2019 03:23PM

Owen & Lori Yocham

For high-quality, hand-crafted goods, no one does it like the Amish. With a stellar reputation for sturdiness, few compete with their ethically-made products, imbued with God’s love. While most Midlanders are familiar with Owen and Lori Yocham’s merchandise (their small business thrived first out of their garage and later in a downtown locale), you might not know that in February 2019 they purchased The Ivy Cottage out on Big Spring Street. Already an established shop, the Yocham’s new place at The Ivy Cottage solidifies their stronghold in the Midland community, as they continue to offer popular goods like Amish-made jams, noodles, clothing, furniture, and artisan gifts. These native West Texans—Lori hails from Odessa and Owen grew up in Rankin—want nothing more than to share their work with others, do things “like Grandad used to” and slow down to enjoy a hard day’s work and some sweet conversation. So, if you’ve never bought from the Yochams, come out and see how the Amish do things. Not only will you support local business, but you’ll see what one-of-a-kind craftsmanship looks like when forged with a grateful heart and a love of God and family.
