All of us here at Midland Living Magazine are proud of those who serve this great country! We thank them for their service and their families’ tremendous sacrifice. We thank God for the hedge of protection He is placing around our military at home and overseas.

Each year a banquet is held in Midland to honor the service and sacrifices of those who keep us free from terror. We not only say thanks to the warrior, but the spouse is also invited to be “carried around on a satin pillow” for the next 3 days. This celebration is held on the Thursday before Thanksgiving each year. Midlander’s fill the Horseshoe Pavilion to show their support for their freedom. Each couple is introduced and the hero is presented a rifle. The following day the heroes head out to San Angelo for an all expense paid hunting trip, while back in Midland the wives are treated like queens. The banquet raises the funds needed so that no expense is incurred by those who participate. Take a look at a few of the many here locally putting their life on the line.
